SignalFlare.ai was founded in 2022 by restaurant industry veterans Mike Lukianoff (CEO) and Jayne Strickland, (CCO). The dynamic pairing began at analytics powerhouse Czar Metrics (founded by Lukianoff) and after a successful run was sold to Fishbowl, a customer engagement solution, in 2015; that newly formed analytics & engagement entity was then acquired by Symphony Technology Group in 2017.
If necessity is the mother of invention – Covid-19 birthed a new perspective and a new venture for the duo – first called Extropy 360 and then quickly rebranded as SignalFlare.ai. Lukianoff’s deep expertise with massive data sets and machine learning – propelled him to reconsider the Team’s previous capabilities in data and analytics given the limitations imposed by the period of inconsistent demand. (Recall, consumer demand was in constant flux during an unprecedented time, followed by a period of heavy inflationary pressures.) He questioned what data sets could be used that would provide insights on real and relevant customer behavior that was also consistent and stable. The answer was simple, the effort was not – no single data set alone was sufficient.
This quest resulted in a proprietary composable data set and the launch into decision intelligence – the practice of aligning data, analytics, and artificial intelligence to make high-impact decisions. Lukianoff & Strickland imagined a Company that was neither exclusively software nor services and recognized the value in having both. They set forth to build a new entity and create a culture that celebrates curiosity.
